FAQ

Have questions? We have answers! This page is dedicated to answering some common 3D printing questions.

What filaments are you able to print? What's the difference?

Currently we are able to print PLA, PETG, and TPU.

PLA is the most common filament and used for house hold objects such as shelves, wall art, and toys. It has excellent strength, but very little give, making it vulnerable to impact. (Don't throw it please)

PETG is another popular filament. PETG has more give than PLA at the cost of some raw strength. This makes it ideal for small parts that need to connect together or for parts that are expected to bend slightly.

Finally, TPU is a filament used for much softer items. It's give makes it a great cushioning material and can be used for things such as shoes, toy tires, and anti-vibration pads.

No matter what filament you need, we will do our best to make sure that you are satisfied with what you paid for!

Does finding a model online have copyright implications?

What is your turnaround time?

What machines do you use?

Turnaround time varies by request, but we strive to have every order ready within a week. If a job will take longer than that, we'll tell you before we start.

Currently, we have two Bambu A1 printers that are maintained regularly. We are always looking to expand our capacity, so there will be bigger things coming!

3D print files are subject to copyright. Each can have different licensing due to a variety of reasons. As a consultant, Kovalenko Kustoms can take custom requests without much issue. However, it is best practice to double check before requesting a specific item.

How much do you charge?

For most prints, we charge 3 dollars per print hour. However, we often will make accommodations and adjustments to better serve our customers and their budgets.
